This book concentrates on the various methods available to businesses to raise capital as well as the investment methodologies that drive strategic business decisions of corporations in Malaysia. Various Islamic financing methods are looked at, such as Bai’ Bithaman Ajil, Istisna’, Ijarah, commodity Murabahah, Bai’ Al-Dayn and Al Qardh ul-Hasan.
 
Private debt securities including bonds, sukuk, loan stocks and redeemable preference shares are analysed and the applicable legal framework discussed. Detailed consideration is also given to the legal requirements of initial public offerings in Malaysia. Alternative modes of corporate finance like venture capital, Islamic private equity and real estate investment trusts are explored.
